Future Proof Insurance have been supporting Loveworks for some time now, and on Friday they joined us in Reigate for our street collection. What a day we had on Friday!🌞 If you were out in Reigate, then you may have met some of our Loveworks volunteers and volunteers from Future Proof Insurance. Huge thanks to @parsleybox who delivered a fabulous donation of meals to our Loveworks warehouse this week. These are perfect for us as they can be stored in the cupboard, and are easy to microwave for our beneficiaries, particularly great for those who don’t have access to other cooking facilities. Reigate St Mary’s School has done it again! We can’t thank the Reigate St Mary’s School community enough for the continued support that they give to Loveworks. 🥫We collected food donations from them last week, all of which will go to local families who would go hungry without our food banks. There can be many reasons why someone may not have access to cooking facilities for a while. It may be that they are in temporary accommodation, or that they have had to leave their home suddenly. Usually they will have at least a kettle or a microwave, and that's when instant snacks can be valuable. It was great to have students from Reigate Grammar School at our warehouse this afternoon. These students have chosen Loveworks for their elective class, where they give back to the community. They have spent time learning about food banks and, as well as helping at our warehouse, they will be fundraising for us too. In February, we saw a similar number of people needing to use our food banks to January. Our volunteers packed and gave out 218 food parcels, providing food for 511 people in our area who could have gone hungry without this support. 🥫Our shelves are running very low of the items on this list. Our fabulous Riding School allotment volunteers (Laura, Angela, Peter, Lynn, Peter and Gill) were awarded the Reigate and Banstead Volunteer Team Award this morning. It was great to welcome The Mayor to our allotment and show him the amazing work that our team are doing to produce fresh produce for our food banks. The Ridings School Garden volunteer team came to Loveworks in 2023 with a wealth of experience, enthusiasm and commitment. Within a year the plot had ten established beds, paths of bark, tool shed, planters, compost bins, fruit cage and communal seating area. Meeting once or twice a week the team have worked on the plot throughout the year, rain or shine, to transform the site. What amazing support we always receive from St Margaret’s Church in Chipstead! Hannah and team decide to raise awareness for Loveworks by running a ‘tin can ally’ game at the Chipstead Fair and Flower Show this weekend. We are grateful to our volunteers every single day of the year, but during National Volunteers Week we want to say an extra special thank you. Loveworks help over 140 people in our community every week, and there is no way that this would happen without the generosity and kindness of our volunteers. Merstham Baptist Church and All Saints South Merstham recently donated a load of non-perishable goods to Loveworks in our fight against food poverty. We thank both communities for their charitable donation.

We are delighted to share with you some photos of the fresh produce grown in our very own community garden! Based at the Park Lane site in Reigate, the garden aims grows food for distribution in the local community, whilst promoting the health and wellbeing benefits of gardening.
